Pazari i Ri (New Bazaar), Tirana

Pazari i Ri (the New Bazaar) is a traditional neighbourhood and market east of Tirana’s central boulevard, at Avni Rustemi Square, around 8 minutes on foot from the city centre. It was built in 1931 on the site of the historic old bazaar, and underwent major renovation in 2017.

What You’ll Find

Stalls selling fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, fish, and local food, alongside Albanian wine and raki, and cafes and restaurants serving traditional cuisine.

General Character

It’s become a pedestrian area buzzing with life day and night, home to around 308 shops providing around 1,007 jobs. The historic Kukonesi Mosque sits right beside it.
