Pljevlja is an inland town in the far north of Montenegro, and the country’s third-largest municipality. It is entirely inland with no sea coast, at the confluence of three rivers: the Breznica, Ćehotina, and Vezišnica.

Pljevlja is the main centre of coal mining in Montenegro, and home to the country’s only thermal power plant, which supplies around 45% of national electricity needs.

Holy Trinity Monastery

Near the town stands the Holy Trinity Monastery, founded around 1465, and one of the most important centres of Serbian Orthodox spiritual and cultural life from the medieval period to today.
