Ksamil Islands

The Ksamil Islands are four small rocky islets off the village of Ksamil in southern Albania (not off Greece), around 4km south of Sarandë, within the boundaries of Butrint National Park on the Ionian Sea.

Size and Location

The four islands together cover only around 8.9 hectares, and can only be reached by boat. The two outer islands are connected by a narrow sandbar, creating a sheltered, lagoon-like stretch of clear water that’s ideal for swimming. On clear days, the Greek island of Corfu is visible from the opposite shore.

Getting There and Activities

Short boat trips (around €3-5 return) run from the main Ksamil beach out to the islands, where visitors can swim and snorkel in the clear turquoise water.
