Blagaj & Kravice Waterfalls

Blagaj and Kravice Waterfalls are two natural destinations south of Mostar, often visited together in a single day trip, and both appear frequently in Bosnia and Herzegovina tour itineraries.

Blagaj Tekke: a small Ottoman-era Sufi dervish house built directly at the foot of a soaring 200-meter limestone cliff, at the source of the Buna River, about 12 km southeast of Mostar. The Buna, which emerges from a cave right next to the tekke, is one of the largest underground rivers in Europe — its crystal-clear water and the tekke’s setting at the edge of the Bišće plain give Blagaj a calm, distinctive atmosphere that makes it one of the most popular stops in southern Bosnia.

Kravice Waterfalls: a large tufa cascade on the Trebižat River, in the heart of Herzegovina’s karst landscape, about 10 km south of Ljubuški and 40 km south of Mostar (roughly an hour’s drive along narrow, winding rural roads through scenic southern Bosnian countryside). Kravice is one of the country’s best-known waterfalls and a popular swimming spot in its natural pools during the summer months.
