Morina-Vërmicë is the most important and busiest border crossing between Kosovo and Albania.

Location

The crossing connects Kukës County in Albania to the Prizren district in Kosovo, sitting at the terminus of the A1 motorway, known as “Rruga e Kombit” (Highway of the Nation), which links Tirana and Pristina.

Importance

This is the most important crossing between the two countries by goods and passenger volume, handling the largest share of goods traffic to and from Kosovo, as well as most tourist traffic arriving in Albania from the northeast.

Infrastructure

The crossing was modernised with a 24/7 facility funded by the EU Delegation in Albania (around €1 million), built to EU border-control standards in line with Schengen requirements.
