National History Museum, Tirana

The National History Museum stands on Skanderbeg Square in central Tirana and is a major institution dedicated to Albania’s history and heritage. Opened in 1981, its collections cover different periods of the country’s history.

Planning a visit

Check directly with the museum about indoor access, renovation work and opening arrangements before adding it to your itinerary. Do not assume every gallery, audio tour or workshop will be available during your trip. You can view the building from the square and choose another operating museum if entry is unavailable.
